BIA BETANCOURT
b. Sao Paulo, Brazil 1944
Art is a crucial part of Bia Betancourt's life. For more then twenty years, Bia has challenged herself to capture movement, energy and colors and convey these sensations in her works. Her paintings, sculptures and panels portray the dynamics of daily scenes, sports, dance, and everything that is constantly moving.
Currently Bia is represented by Commenoz Gallery in Key Biscayne, Florida. She has several works in hotels, commerical buildings, and works with special projets and to order. A Sao Paulo native, Bia graduated from MacKenzie Presbyterian University and the PanAmerican School of Art. She has continued her search to create by taking specialization courses in sculpture and drawing at New York University and courses with renowned people from artistic milieu such as Marina Saleme.
